Subject: The menace of of stray dogs in our cities.
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily national newspaper, I wish to draw the attention of the Municipal Corporation on the increasing number of stray dogs in almost all our big towns and metro cities.
Stray dogs have many negative impacts on the environment of a city and to the health of the people living in them. Stray dogs cause feces garbage in our localities. They are also responsible for many road accidents. Another serious danger from stray dogs is that they are not vaccinated and if we are bitten by them we may get infected with rabies which can even lead to lost of life.
I believe that killing all the stray dogs with the help of the police is cruel and not the right approach. I request the Municipal Corporation and the government authorities to come with a comprehensive plan to reduce the number of stray dogs.
There are a few suggestions that I think will be helpful in dealing with stray dogs. The stray dogs must be rounded up and kept in shelters. After this, with the help of veterinarians all of them should be vaccinated. Then they must be sprayed to stop their population growth. This is a method used by most countries across the world. The government must allocate a special fund to take of the stray dogs in shelters. There are lots of people who loves to keep pet dogs. So, after proper medical check-ups and treatment, they can be given to people who wanted to adopt the.
I look forward to a positive response and action by the municipality and the government in dealing with the problem of stray dogs.
Yours sincerely
