Sir/Madam,
Through the esteemed columns of your newspaper, I wish to bring to the fore the importance of trees in our life. Climate change and global warming are the realities of the twenty-first century. Pollution levels in metro cities have touched an all-time high.
All these factors take a toll on public health and give rise to various diseases. A simple solution to combat this problem is planting trees. Trees are the lifeline of our planet. Trees produce oxygen which helps purify the air. Trees also provide cool shade from the harsh sun rays. Many trees have medicinal properties.
Trees also produce flowers and fruits. We should encourage people to plant more trees and to nurture them. If all of us take a pledge to plant a tree on our birthday then soon we would have a good forest cover. Schools and colleges could provide incentives to students who take part in tree plantation drives. The government should also demarcate areas for planting trees and provide adequate security measures to safeguard them.

I shall be highly obliged if you kindly allow me a little space in the columns of your esteemed daily to draw the attention of the authorities concerned about the necessity of planting more trees in the urban areas.
We know there is an eternal relationship between trees and mankind. We are based benefitted by trees in many ways. They supply us life saving oxygen, gives us food, fruits, timber, medicine and many other necessary things. They announce the approach of rain to produce crops. They bring cloud, cloud generate rain and rain helps to grow harvest. We get shelter, we get shadow from trees. Trees help us stand against environmental pollution. We cannot think of life without trees. So we must grow more and more trees and stop destruction of trees at a wide scale.
The government should take effective measures to stop deforestation and grow more and more trees. I would request the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to solve these problems.
