Subject: Need to make sports an integral part of our curriculum
Sir:
I am writing this letter to express my deep concern over the neglect of making sports an integral part of the national curriculum. Quality of sports of a nation has direct relation with its advancement and strength. The more a nation is advanced and strong, the better is its sports. In Olympics America is always number 1; followed by Russia and China. India is always at the bottom row in the medals tally.
Sports makes stronger and efficient people who can contribute more to the national development. Unfortunately, sports in our country is only played for show off or to abide by set Government norms and guidelines. There is dearth of world class grounds, stadia, etc. in our country. Schools and colleges don’t give sports enough importance.
I appeal to the Government and people to make and adopt sports as an integral part of curriculum for the faster development of the nation. I request you to give my views enough space in your esteemed daily. Thanking you.
