Urban floods are entirely manmade with poorly maintained drains, plastic bags, shrinking open spaces and climate change contributing to accumulation of water on roads after a heavy downpour, experts say. They said that steps such as rainwater harvesting, ban on use of plastic bags and better use of weather forecasts will go a long way in helping tackle flooding in cities after rains. Heavy downpours have been disrupting normal life in almost all metro cities in India, with Mumbai bearing the brunt last month which led to death of at least six persons.

Experts said a range of factors including rapid migration to urban areas and “lackadaisical attitude” of civic authorities were among the factors that contribute to cities coming to a standstill after heavy rains.

I am Anjali Mathur a resident of Vasant Kunj would like to inform u about the havoc caused by rain in the city and our locality.There is a lot of water shattered in our houses and also on the roads.

The people walking on the footpath are unable to get through their destination.There is a lot of disturbance and also sometimes their would be an argument on the people..There are many vehicles drained in the water and it lead many people to death..

Due to this rains and floods their and been a lot of economic and GDP loss in the state and all the people are unable to cope up with it. It also lead to the loss of the wildlife heritage in our city..as many dogs that run through the streets have been drowned and fell into the drainage..and also the animal rescue team is unable to rescue them..

So,in behalf of all these reason I want to post the same above matter in your esteemed newspaper so that any big personality will try to help us in any ways..and we will be out of this disaster..
