[Sub: Dangers of the Environmental Pollution]
Sir,
Through the editorial column of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw the kind attention of the concerned authorities regarding ‘Environmental Pollution Dangers’. Environmental Pollution is the biggest problem facing modern man. All advancement becomes useless if a man does not get the very basic necessity of life, i.e. freshand pure air. And only trees can do this service to man.
Unluckily man, in his ignorance, has so far been destroying his very benefactors. There was a time when 50% of soil is covered with forest. But man, in his greed has reduced it to a mere 8% now.
Pollution needs to be dramatically reduced because it is destroying the environment we live in, contaminating our food and water, causing diseases and cancers in humans and wildlife, and destroying the air we breathe and the atmosphere that protects us from harmful ultra-violet radiation. These pollutants can result in human health problems such as stomach aches, vomiting, diarrhea, and typhoid. Chemicals such as pesticides, hydrocarbons, POPs, or heavy metals can pose deleterious health effects such as cancer, hormonal imbalance, reproductive impairment, and severe liver and kidney damage.
This is my humble request to publish this writing in the columns of your newspaper to spread awareness among the people about the fatal effects of environmental pollution and how dangerous it can be for the lives of living beings.
