Sub: Price hike of essential commodities

Sir,

Through the appropriate columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to ventilate my deep concern over the high prices of essential commodities.

The present trend of rising prices of all essential commodities has put the common people to extreme hardships. Over the last decade prices have soared higher and higher. The price of rice, dal, spices, vegetables. mustard oil, and all other articles are going up by leaps and bounds. Fish and meat are now included only during festivals. The charge of electricity and LPG cylinder is also increasing. All types of medicines including life-saving drugs are now beyond the reach of the common people.

In this situation it is really a challenge to maintain a family with fixed income. The poor and the lower middle class are the worst sufferers. The daily wage-earners are terribly crushed. The burden of expenditure is so heavy that common people suffer most. They cannot make both ends meet.

The Government and the authorities are now mute spectators. No attempts have been made to check inflation and price-rise. People accept it as a necessary evil. They neither grumble nor protest against such an alarming situation.

In my opinion, the Government should take stern measures against unscrupulous hoarders and traders who are largely responsible for this vicious and spiral rising of prices of all essential goods.

Yours truly,

Hope it helps u.

Sub: High price of life saving drug.

Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed daily I would like to ventilate my concern (or grievance) about the dangers of high price rise of life saving drugs

Only rulers do change, but the misery of poor and middle class people remains the same. In every 5 years, a new ruler comes but the hardships of the middle class people persists. what a misery!

Day by day, the price of life saving drugs is increasing by leaps and bounds. For the middle class salaried people, the annual income is too lame to keep pace with the abnormal price hike or soaring. The wage earners and pension holders find it really difficult to make both ends meet. Even the price of medicines has gone beyond the reach of the poor and middle class people. IIn such situation, some dishonest traders are trying to catch fish in the troubled water. If the situation persists, how will the poor people survive?

I think the government should immediately do whatever necessary, and take proper steps to blacklist the black marketeers and adopt the price control measures. Unless any drastic measure is taken, law and order will be at stake.

Yours truly,
