Dear Sir,

I seek to express my views on the communal disturbance that have checked the free flow of life in this state. I shall feel obliged to you if you spare me a column or two in your esteemed paper.

This state is known for communal harmony. Here the people professing different faiths have, for long, lived in unity. They have shared a common cultural heritage. This unity in diversity has been a special feature of India’s culture. It is pity that this peaceful state witnessed bestial incidents of communal disturbance. The evil force of communalism must be curbed. Many innocent lives have been lost. Incidents of murder, arson, and dacoit have become a common feature. The situation is, no doubt, alarming. Some vested interests in and outside the country are trying to fish in the troubled waters.

The need of the hour is that saner people should join heads and help ease the situation. The government should also tackle the situation tactfully. Much blood has flowed down the drain. It is time that communal harmony is restored in the state. Politician with selfish interests must not be allowed to fan the fire of communalism.

I hope these views of mine will go a long way in bringing peace back to the state.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

X Y Z.

Hope it helps you....
