sir,

Through the column of your esteemed daily I would like to ventilate my concern about the thoughtless and indiscriminate felling of trees.

Natural calamities are taking place very now and then. Though we know that tree is our life-giver and life-saver, we thoughtlessly cut down trees. This thoughtless felling of trees causes havoc to the eco-balance and weakens our economy. But unfortunately we do not pay heed to such gravest threat. The common people are not made aware of the gravity of the problem. The more the growth of population increases, the more felling down of trees increases. We deprive ourselves of green touch due to urbanisation, excessive population growth and for swift development. Due to deforestation our eearth regularly faces droughts, floods, cyclonic storm, soil and water erosion, air pollution, global warming.

But our latest hope is that the government, the NGOs, and commoners will work together to check deforestation and create mass awareness in this respect.
