Sub: Banning of old vehicles to preserve environment
Dear Sir,
I am Lalit from Green park and I am writing this letter regarding the conservation of our environment. As you know New Delhi is the most polluted city in the world. A lot of this pollution comes from old vehicles whose number is very high in New Delhi. These vehicles emit sulfur dioxide and carbon mono oxide which are very harmful for human beings. The pollution caused by old vehicles is five times more than the pollution caused by new vehicles. This is a very concerning matter unless it is dealt properly.
So I request you to publish an article in your newspaper regarding banning of old vehicles which can reduce the pollution in a significant amount.
Thanking you,
Lalit

Subject: Banning old vehicles
Sir:
I am writing this letter to express my deep concern over the ever increasing vehicular pollution. The number of vehicles have been rising drastically in all the cities in India. It is estimated that approximately 217.7 tons of carbon monoxide is emitted in all the metropolitan cities. Similarly, 66.7 tons of hydrocarbons are released in the air every day. Other pollutants such as lead, Sulphur dioxide, and particulate matter are released into the air.
These pollutants cause many serious health hazards such as cough, nausea, headache, , irritation of eyes, various bronchial and visibility problems. The Government and people must join hands to overcome this problem. The Government must ban very old vehicles; the Government must also start providing electrical vehicles to people at subsidized cost. People must also adopt pollution free vehicles.
I appeal to the Government to implement air pollution control policies at the earliest. Kindly give my views enough space in the columns of your esteemed daily.
Thanking you.
Yours truly,
Kapil
