SUB:- Recklessness of Motorists on Busy Roads

Sir/Madam,

I am a regular reader of the columns of your esteemed daily, and I would like to draw your attention towards the utter disregard of traffic rules by motorists today.

Metros today have become concrete jungles enmeshed in a complex web of roads and highways, where traffic jams are inevitable. Hyderabad is in no way different from this depiction. However, with the sudden increase in road accidents since 1st September, the safety of pedestrians and fellow riders has become a grave concern; the root of the problem being the bikers. The motorists rarely pay any heed to the speed limits, because of which the number of bike accidents to have been rising exponentially. Speeding, reckless honking, signal jumping, and riding without helmets have become commonplace in the streets of Hyderabad, and this is an issue which must be addressed to the Traffic Guard and the Ministry of Transportation immediately, for the sake of the commuters.

I request you to kindly publish this letter so that it reaches the concerned authority.

Thank you.

With regards,

Ritu Rao
