Sub: Frequent breakdowns in the supply of electricity in
Ambala
Sir:
Through the columns
of your esteemed newspaper, I want to highlight the frequent breakdowns of
electricity in Ambala. I hope this letter will awaken the concerned authorities
from their slumber. Prompt remedial steps must be taken to set the things
right. The residents of Ambala have to undergo untold sufferings due to
frequent breakdowns of electricity. In summer the mercury shoots up to 46
degree Celsius. The helpless residents spend sleepless nights. There have been
many thefts in the area. The low voltage has been a regular problem. The worst
sufferers are the students. They have to study in candle light at night during
their examination days. In Sector 23, there is been no power supply for the
last two days. The pre-vacation exams are going on in all the schools.
The erratic and irregular supply of power speaks volumes of
the inefficient working of the Haryana State Electricity Board (HSEB). A
delegation of the residents met the Minister in this regard. He assured them of
a regular supply of electricity in the area. We hope they will make provisions for the regular and
uninterrupted power supply to residents of Ambala in future, especially the
studnets.
Yours truly

Subject: Frequent load shedding for three months in Kailash Colony.
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed national newspaper, I would like to highlight the plight of the people caused by frequent load shedding in Kailash Colony, South Delhi.
I am surprised that in spite of lodging several complaints with the Power Department and the Municipal Corporation nothing has been done till now and the residents of Kailash Colony continue to face frequent load shedding for the last three months. Due to this the people of this locality are facing much hardship.
Both parents and their children are anxious over the prevailing situation since it disrupts their daily study hours.
Many small shops owners who use power in their works, like fixing punctured tyres and checking the volume of air inside tyres for a small fee are in a desperate situation. They have rents to pay, bills to clear, and mouth to feed. With their daily little income reduced, they are in a quandary.
Long periods of load shedding, especially at night hours, also lead to an increase in criminal activities as anti-social elements take advantage of the situation.
It must be noted that it is the common and poor people who suffer the most during load shedding because they cannot afford to buy generators.
I therefore request the concerned departments and agencies and the authorities to urgently look into the matter immediately and restore uninterrupted power supply to this locality.
An early action on this matter will be highly appreciated.
Gratefully thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
J. KUNAL
