Subject: Influence of TV and Internet on Children.

Dear Sir:

I am writing to your good self to express my views and concern over the problem of increasing influence of TV and internet on children. I am just shocked at statics published by Parents Television Council, an organization that promotes and advocates responsible entertainment. According to the statistics published by this organization the average eight year old child spends eight hours a day on media. A child spends eight hours a day on media. A teenager typically spends more than 11 hours of media a day. Similarly, more and more children are using internet to play video games and surf net.  

Excessive TV watching and playing video games and using internet affect their, physical, mental, emotional, and social health. Weak eyesight, obesity, aggression, stress, weak academics, poor concentration in studies, etc. are the common fallouts of too much TV watching and video games.  

Through the medium of your newspaper I appeal to parents, teachers and the concerned authorities to look into the matter and make and implement strategies to wean children off TV watching, internet and video games. I hope you will give enough space to my views in your esteemed newspaper.

Sir,

          I am XXX from NIT Calicut studying B. tech final year. I am writing this letter to express my opinion about the increasing influence of TV and Internet on students. With the decrease in the Internet usage charges from 2016 by introducing JIO 4G technology by Reliance in India. Day by Day the usage of mobile data is increasing rapidly.

         According to a survey conducted by Statista an online statics website it is found that the average amount of time spent by students on TV and Internet is more than 8 hours. With positive trend in the usage these leads to lot of health, mental issues like Depression, Anxiety, Hostility, Psychosis, Social isolation etc

         Also due to this addiction the time students spent on sports reduces which again leads to their lesser physical strengths. So I want to forward this news through your daily esteemed newspaper to concerned authorities.
