Subject: Importance and joys of reading
Sir:
I am writing this letter to appeal to people to adopt and promote habit of reading. Self-improvement, personal enhancement, and skill-building are possible only through reading. Bacon said, “Reading maketh a full man; writing an exact man, and conference a ready man.” Reading is an essential basic skill building activity. One’s language fluency is determined by the quality of reading. Besides, vocabulary enrichment, ideas collection, familiarization with different types of writing formats, speaking fluency, etc, all depend upon reading. In all cultures and civilizations, much stress is laid on reading. Schools, colleges, and other academic institute use reading as a major tool in imparting education to students. However, in the modern times, this activity is being ignored.
It is true a person who has the reading habit, never feels lonely and bored. The books open up a magical world for him or her and he lives among angels in the pages of the books. Books never let go the readers astray. They make them wise and pragmatic. We must endeavour to develop this fabulous habit of reading.
Through the medium of your esteemed daily, I appeal to people to adopt reading and encourage the younger ones to make best use of this wonderful hobby.
Thanking you,
Yours truly,
Amit Bajwa

Dear Wincey
I hope this letter finds all of you in good health.
We are all fie here.
In your previous letter you wanted to know about my cultural festival.
Here I am going to tell you about a very unique festival called Bihu.
Bihu is the chief festival in the state of Assam.
It refers to a set of three different festivals: Rongali or Bohag Bihu observed in April, Kongali or Kati Bihu observed in October and Bhogali or Magh Bihu observed in January.
Bihu is associated with agriculture and rice in particular.
Bohag Bihu is a sowing festival; Kati Bihu is associated with crop protection and worship of plants, while Magh Bihu is a harvest festival.
Rongali or Bohag Bihu which takes place for four days is celebrated by Assamese people with feasts, music and dancing.
Bihu is a secular festival that is celebrated by people from all parts of the state irrespective of caste creed or religion.
It is a traditional festival where people cook traditional foods, pithas, various rice items and also wear traditional clothes.
Hence the entire festival is secular in nature and is deeply connected with agriculture.
Give my regards to Uncle and Aunty and please do reply me as soon as you get my letter
Yours loving friend
Shreya
