Sir,

Sub : Harmful effects on drinking carbonated drinks.

Through the columns of your esteemed paper i would like the highlight the harmful effects on drinking carbonated drinks.

There are claims that carbonation increases calcium loss in bones, causes tooth decay, causes irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and can make victims gain weight even without the calories, sugar, and flavor that are found in regular soda.

A 2006 study involving 2,500 people set out to determine what effects consumption of colas and other carbonated beverages had on bone mineral density. While researchers found that cola beverages were associated with low bone mineral density in women, other carbonated drinks did not appear to have the same effect. This is due to the fact that cola beverages have phosphorus, which can increase the loss of calcium from the body through the kidneys.Other effects of drinking carbonated drinks includes Tooth decay and Obesity

Hope you make aware of harmfull effects of drinking carbonated drinks to the masses. Please do the needful.

Your faithfully,

Ritika konkan

No party or celebration is complete without a range of soft drinks that titillate our taste buds before temporarily quenching our thirst. Aerated drinks are harmful for our society specially the youth and are responsible for the epidemic of obesity. Such drinks are popular in all age groups, in fact; kids and teens consider such drinks to be an inseparable part of their lives. However, health conscious people have acknowledged the ill effects of consuming such sugar sweetened beverages; fondly referred to as soft drinks. Regular consumption of such drinks in the long run leads to weight gain and has an adverse effect on our cardiometabolic health (this term encompasses heart related disorders and metabolic disorders such as diabetes).
