Dear Sir/Madam
Subject: Some thoughts on the early stages of evolution
My name is Lekha Tripathi and I am an anthropologist and archaeologist and have been associated with the study of Evolutionary Anthropology, that is, the interdisciplinary study of the evolution of human behavior and human physiology and the relation between non-hominid primates and hominids. I would like to share some ideas on evolution early stages as I have come across certain new findings in my latest research related to this subject.
Human evolution has been through many stages. Hominidae, or also known as the great apes are the apes which eventually evolved into the humans of these days divided from the supposed less significant apes about 7.5 million years ago. This is the estimated time frame set for the deviation of the human ancestry from that of chimpanzees; humans' nearest extant relatives. The Australopithecus afarensis ancestor of present-day humans has been recognized as having human-like and ape-like features, in the sense of observing ape-like as evocative of chimpanzees or gorillas. The most primitive example was discovered in southern Africa in the year 1924, well before such findings were extensively accepted to be proof of primeval human descents. Homo habilis also referred to as handyman since, during its finding in the year 1960 in
Tanzania, it was the first human ancestor supposed to have utilized manmade tools. Homo erectus, this famous ancestor of contemporary humans, found in Indonesia in the year1891, existed from nearly 2 million years ago to approximately 144,000 years ago, a remarkable period of existence. The humans you see in our midst are regarded to be the identical species as the Homo sapiens which evolved into current form by approximately 310,000 years ago in Africa. The brains of human ancestors are increasing as a function of body size all through human evolution, and not shockingly, present-day’s humans have the biggest brains of the group. However, compared to earlier hominids, contemporary humans have lost their forward-jutting jaws and conspicuous brow ridges
The above information is of help to several novice learners of anthropology and I request your kind self to publish these details in your esteemed newspaper. I also plan to share many more ideas on evolutionary anthropology and I wish that the above information is a prelude to such ideas and the beginning of a long-term relationship with your esteemed daily
Yours sincerely
Lekha Tripathi
