Answer:

To

The Editor,

The Times of India,

Mumbai.

Sir,

Diwali is a festival of light and joy. But this doesn’t mean that it should be celebrated in a noisy way. Year after year thousands of rupees is wasted on crackers and fireworks. During the Diwali week, there is an incessant noise lasting from dawn to midnight. The deafening noise made by powerful crackers and ‘atom bombs’ frightens young children and adversely affects the sick. It makes it difficult for many people to sleep peacefully at night.

It is high time we stopped this practice of celebrating Diwali in a noisy manner. The Government should ban the use of atom bombs’ during Diwali.

Answer:

Noise pollution is a major problem during Diwali. Firecrackers cause a tremendous amount of noise pollution. Most noteworthy, this noise pollution is pretty damaging to hearing. Also, noise pollution is a major problem for animals, old people, students, and sick people.

Many people are very sad and ill due to this action repeated every year even after the SUPREME court has banned crackers. I plead to the concerned authorities to take strickt actions.
