Sub: Science and technology is a perfect blueprint for future

Sir:

I am writing to your good self to express my views on role of science and technology in shaping India’s dynamic future. India is marching steadily and surely towards advancement; to attain the status of an advanced nation and to tackle future challenges of pollution, hostile neighubouring countries, prosperity, growth, and stable economy, India must develop her science and technology.

Bill Nye, a great American engineer has wisely said, ‘Science is the key to our future, and if you don't believe in science, then you're holding everybody back.’ Self reliance in science and technology is the first prerequisite for national progress and development. Without it no nation can dream of prosperity and freedom.

Countries such as USA, Russia, France, UK, Israel, China, South Korea, Japan, etc. are advanced by virtue of their advancement in the science and technology. Hence the more a nation is advanced technologically the more say it has in the world affairs. The above mentioned countries have developed such sophisticated machines and technology that they can do almost anything. These countries have made state-of-the-art weapons, surveillance, situational monitoring devices that they are always ready to tackle any emergencies in advance. Similarly, they have made unprecedented advances in education, medicines, energy creation, vehicles manufacturing, computers, IT world, research, etc. All these achievements would not have been possible if the people of these countries would not have nurtured scientific attitude.

India is the new entrant in this sphere. India has shown phenomenal success in science and technology recently. The notable organizations that have contributed to scientific and technological development are: ISRO, DRDO, ADA, BHEL BDL, etc. India has stunned the world in its expertise in producing sophisticated weapons for self defense such as  Akash, Prithivi, Agni, LCA, BDM system, Tejas, Rohini radar, etc.

India should further develop science and technology in all fields for a bright and secure future. Through the medium of your newspaper, I appeal to people and Government to promote scientific and technological advancement, especially among school and college students. Kindly give my views enough space in your reputed daily. Thanking you.

Yours truly,

Ankit
