DEAR SIR/MADAM.

REF; ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS CHALLENGE

Am honored to be writing to you about the environmental challenge that is going to take place starting next month.

The challenge will involve sharing of environmental conservation posters in our various social media platforms and tagging all the relevant authorities who have neglected the conservation idea.

Secondly,it will involve sharing of videos on a daily basis on how each person is conserving the environment at his or her own space. The most unique method uploaded will get a honor of being crowned Miss or Mister environment.

Last but not the least,a national clean up day which will be scheduled during the last weekend of the coming month ,which will also involve each citizen by cleaning all rivers and streams that are near our homesteads and any living space.

I request you to publish our plan in the national magazine at any day of your choice to create awareness in the whole country.

Thank you in advance.

Yours Faithfully,

Sub: Dealing with the alarming issue of global warming

Sir:

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I want to express my deep concern and the need to immediately the needful at the micro and macro levels before the problem becomes unmanageable. Global warming has already started affecting the entire world. Climatic changes are noticeable everywhere. Ice is melting worldwide, especially at the Earth’s poles. This includes mountain glaciers, ice sheets covering West Antarctica and Greenland, and Arctic sea ice.

In northern Greenland traditional Inuit culture is already under threat. The sea ice that Inuit use to hunt seals, walruses, and other animals, is not staying as long as it used to. Global warming's impact on sea ice and ocean currents are also altering the distribution of animals. Melting of the huge ice sheet on Greenland will raise the sea-water level by a few feet, leading to submerging of habitable coastal areas and compelling the inhabitants to move farther inside the terrain. This would further have ecological ramifications.

For people living on Indian Subcontinent Global Warming has brought unbearable heat during the summer season. In the month of June mercury has gone beyond 50 degree Celsius in many cities across India. If this continues, in the near future people will be popped like popcorn.

The people of the world must unite and stop global warming from further rising. Emissions of greenhouse gases must immediately be controlled along with the large scale afforestation in all the countries, especially the developing countries. Large scale tree plantation in and around cities must be initiated.

If the environment is not given the top priority throughout the world, we will lose it forever. Kindly publish my ideas in your esteemed daily for spreading public awareness in our region so that people should start caring for their environment.

Yours truly,

Ravinder
