Answer:
To,
The Commissioner of Police,
Mumbai.
I am constrained to draw your attention to the growing menace of thieves in my locality.
The policeman is a rare sight in this crowded and growing locality. Taking advantage of the absence of the police around, some goondas are freely indulging in thefts and robberies. During this week as many as twenty thefts have taken place. No house which is locked even for a few hours during the day is safe. Burglary too is on the increase. The other day four miscreants broke into a house and relieved the inmates, at the point of the knife, of all the cash and jewellery they had.
I request you to take immediate steps to stem this tide of insecurity.
Yours faithfully
X.Y.Z.

The Police Station,

Bhatnagar Street,
Mumbai.
To the Police Inspector,
This is, Mr. Arnish Chowdhury, the secretary of the local club in NC. Satellite street. This application is to bring your attention to the increasing hazards of thefts and burglary taking place in this area.
The incidents of thefts are taking place in broad daylight and it is jeopardizing every life living in the locality. People here are all service holders and their houses are left alone during the day when they leave for work. No houses are safe when are locked alone. In the past week, there is almost more than 15 incidents related to thefts. It is also informed that some local hooligans are creating this problem. These incidents are threatening our lives and all the local dwellers are stressed. No one is safe, especially the kids and old people. Some incidents took place in the recent week where the civilians were even hurt. It is very unsafe during the evening. No one can get out of their houses safely. We have already complained to the local police station and they have made an FIR, but that has not been of any benefit. The hooligans are taking advantage of that. The locality is becoming highly unsafe and is risking our lives. It is affecting our mental health. These incidents are traumatic for the children who are evidencing it. They are always in horror. Our lives here have become very tough. We ardently request you to take the necessary steps to control this menace.
This is the request of all the localities to manage this situation with immediate time effect. Safety is the top-most priority now. We need police safety urgently.
Thank you.
Arnish Chowdhury.
