Subject: Complaint regarding reckless driving by youngsters

Dear Sir/Madam,

I reside at Nanapeth, a locality that has wide roads and broad pavements. Unfortunately, our locality has become a potential danger-zone because of reckless driving by youngsters.

These youth enjoy speeding not only on the road, but also on the pavements. Sometimes, three or four of them are seen riding bikes together at full speed, yelling and talking to each other, least bothered about who is on the road. They care little for the young or the old. We have already witnessed seven hit-and-run accidents.

I strongly suggest, on behalf of the residents of this neighbourhood, that some strict patrolling be conducted in this area and the offenders be caught and punished. Otherwise there is every chance that our locality will become an accident-prone-zone, where ordinary and innocent citizens will have to think twice before stepping out of their houses.

I trust that you will take immediate steps to improve the situation.

Yours Faithfully,

XYZ

Subject: The Problem of Traffic Jams

Sir:

I wish to bring to your highness’s notice the problem of traffic jams in the city. The problem is so serious that every day almost all the roads become impassable owing to the long traffic jams. Owing to the lack of strict action, the problem persists.

There are many causes of these jams such as narrow roads, excess amount of vehicles, street vendors, absence of traffic police at all the crucial traffic monitoring points, etc.  These jams are causing a huge loss to the national resources. Not only time is wasted, but fuel worth millions of rupees also gets wasted.

I think making some of the roads one way along with the deployment of traffic cops will ease up the situation a little bit until proper infrastructure is constructed. A heavy fine should be levied against the defaulters. I on behalf of the citizens of Ludhiana appeal to you to look into the matter and relieve the citizens of the menace of jams caused by the above-mentioned causes.

Thanking you,

Yours truly,

I.Lakshmi
