Happy Holi!!

Holi is the colorful event held every year and is referred as the festival of many colors. The whole town is fully covered with colours. Everyone who is a fun lover is seen holding water balloons, water pistols, powder, etc., on this colourful day! Before playing with colours, we need to apply oil on our hair so that the colours do not stick on to it. I usually play on the ground and all my friends join me there and we are so thrilled to play amongst all in groups. It is so nice to see when all the powder surrounds us in the air, and sometimes may affect our eye, hence need to be very careful while playing during such a wonderful color event / festival. I indeed have a good experience altogether with all my friends when the day of Holi arrives.

With all the colours covering the whole surrounding the atmosphere, it is difficult for all of us to see each other. On this day, we all sing and dance to music along with spraying colours on everybody. Soon as the day passes by, the place gets overcrowded with friends, adults and small children. We all take a break for five minutes and chat with each other at that time. We resume the fun parade followed by a competition as to who gets coloured most and least. We also wear special eye wear to keep our eyes away from any harmful particles releasing from the atmosphere.

We also take part in a special pooja conducted to worship Goddess Durga to mark victory of good over evil. It's great to be a part of this ritual which includes going round a bonfire too.

Usually Holi arrives during the onset of hot summers, the best part of this festive day being the chilled, lip smacking, sweet drinks we get to sip and also the yummy ice creams to beat the heat and the delicious sweets which our mother serves for us to relish and enjoy.

However, we must always bear in mind that we should never unnecessarily throw colors on those who are not interested to play with colors and embarrass or scare them. This is a fun filled festival and hence all should be happy and enjoy the best of what they can without hurting others.

It is also to be noted that we should not waste water unnecessarily and need to save them. This color festival will always end of wasting and consuming more water, hence everyone need to control them and save water, as water is very precious to all. Wasting water is similar to wasting food which may be needed to others during scarcity.
