Dear Brother,
I believe college life is the best time a person can have in his/her entire life time. The friends you make there will be in your life forever. With this 3 or 5 years you will change a lot, your view toward life, politics and so on will change.
College life is entirely different from School life.
First day
Obviously you will have to face some ragging from your seniors, instead of offending them enjoy it. You will do the same in the coming years. ( if it goes extreme, report it to the concerned authority)
Friends
You will meet & talk with some people in the first day but do not let them too close to you. You don't know what character they have or anything. As I said earlier, the friends you make there will be in your life till you go grave, so you have to pick them carefully.
Be social, talk with everyone and respect everyone.
Keep this always in your mind, I want you have circle like this.
1st circle includes your family.
2nd circle consists Teachers, Best friends.
3rd circle is social life.
Study
Get a membership to college library, find time to involve in reading.
Remember, to evolve , reading is must, the syllabus of college itself would not make you great.
Bunking is okay, if it is occasional.
You might have heard people saying that Grades won't matter and people shouldn't be judged based on the grades etc.
I am completely against it , your grades does matter when you go for higher studies.
Besides all that, we can't let this mans dream down. We are the future of our country.

Always give respect for them, they are like Gods
Always have a good relationship with teachers, their blessings and support is very much needed to further heighten your knowledge and grow in life.
Arts & sports
Participate in everything you can. Be active for everything. Enjoy every moment there. Know your hidden skill.
Leadership
Please do develop your leadership skill, you need this everywhere. Nobody remembers the people who are in the ground, everyone remembers the people who are leaders. So be a good leader.
Always have good smile on your face. Always help the needy & lift them up.
Relationship
If you love a girl and she also loves you back, I am okay with it. But if she does not love you back, just leave her alone. NO MEANS NO.
Politics
It's okay if it's for good. Never be a part of anything that is against your ethics.
