I hope your doing well. I'm fine, too. This year, around the time of your birthday, i made several preparations to surprise you, such as your favorite cake, candles, gifts, decorations, etc. 

However, when i discovered that you wouldn't be returning in time for your birthday, i got disheartened. 

I understand that studying for your finals was tough enough, that now you'll be giving an exam on the day of your birthday. 

I hate that your exams had to be postponed. 

Don't be too sad, as I'm sending you the gift i personally picked out for you.

I hope you like it as I put a lot of thought into it.
