Dear grandfather,

I have recieved my birthday gift yesterday, and I would like to thank you for the alarm clock you gifted me on my birthday. It is indeed a very useful gift for me, and I was thinking of buying an alarm clock from a couple of days. I learnt punctuality from the gift that you gave me.

I now never get up late and thus reach my school on time. The loud noise hurts my ears, but never fails to wake me up. It also reminds me to complete my homework, study for exams and time to watch cricket too! I would like to end this short letter by again saying thank you. Please visit us :)

The Letter is written to father do it is an Informal letter. In an informal letter the  body has friendly content and words. There is not formal language used except the format of the informal letter.
