Dear Sanjeev,

I shall like to be excused for conveying to you a piece of unpleasant news through this letter. I have to inform you with a feeling of immense guilt and great sorrow that the bicycle, which you had been kind enough to spare yesterday, has been damaged. Since the damage is really irreparable, I find myself helpless and can do nothing else but to express my deep sorrow and beg for forgiveness.

It all happened all of a sudden. While I was riding at full speed, I came across a big boulder, placed right in the middle of the way. The impact was so forceful that while I fell on one side, the bicycle was flung on the other. Though I could escape with minor injuries, the vehicle fell on rocks and got completely smashed.

I have talked to my father about the whole incident and he too is full of sympathy for you. He has asked me to make good the loss, either by paying you the cost of the bicycle, or buying a new one in its place. Please let me know how much I have to pay you for it.

Earnestly hoping for your forgiveness once again,

Yours sincerely,

Manu Khatri( your name )
