Dear Friend,
The last time we met it was not in so friendly a spirit. We argued about many things and said many hurtful things to each other. The matter went up to the teacher and class was disturbed. I have been thinking about the incident, and I must admit I behaved very badly. I called you a lot of names, which I had no right to do.
I am writing this letter, because I cannot face you. I am sincerely sorry for my behavior, and would like you to forgive me. Our friendship is too valuable to be broken by an incident so silly as this. Please say that you have accepted my apology and let us be Mends again. I shall take care, in the future, to see that such a thing does not happen.
We have had good times together and have shared many wonderful experiences. I don’t think we should throw it all away over such a petty issue. If you are willing, I could come over to your house when you want or you could come over. You are welcome anytime, any day!
Do tell me that you have forgiven me.
