Dear Siya,

Hope you are doing. You must be aware of my last summer visit to Vedanthangal. It is a bird sanctuary situated in Tamil Nadu. The sanctuary is spread across 30 acres of land.

The variety of birds in the sanctuary is mesmerising. The sanctuary was established in 1936. I am naming here the few varieties of birds that were present there, which are cormorants, egrets, darter, grey heron, white ibis, grey pelican, grebes, open-billed stork, night herons, spoonbill, etc.

Numerous birds visit this sanctuary in winter increasing the beauty, variety and fun of bird viewing. I loved viewing the Grey pelican the most.

The grey pelican had a brownish tail, curly and grey hindneck. It is spotted with pale colour. The pouch of the bird varies from pink to purple and the tip of the bill varies from yellow to orange color.
