Dear maya,

How are you? hope you're safe. Last week I was in quarintine because I had to visit my grandma. So I wasn't allowed to go anywhere. Mom would keep food at the doorstep and I had to sanitize the boxes  really well. And it was pretty boring.. all I did was scroll through through instagram, watch youtube videos and so on. Finally after a week, I'm out of that room of mine. And thank god my corona result is negative. We'll meet soon. Bye

Yours sincerely

Kia

Answer:

Dear Friend,

Today, we are facing the biggest challenge (COVID19) in spite of advanced technology in place. The unforeseen pandemic has made me realise the importance of life and death. My outlook towards life has entered a moulding stage and I am trying to make sure it shapes in a way covering broader perspective towards LIVING, ultimately leading to satisfactory DEATH.

We humans work, sweat, strive in our field of interest for better existence and are in constant thirst to attain set goals. Meanwhile, may be a few or all, ignoring health, family, friends and most importantly self. Undoubtedly corona has induced fright, panic, fear at the same it has evoked thought/s of the true meaning to survival. Quarantine period is literally connecting people in all sense and has halted each and every single busy road which seemed impossible to me until now. (Thanks to Corona but I stand #gocoronago).

Now coming to my tapping viewpoints towards life, never ever have I imagined such a big scale lockdown in India. It is unplanned and disorganised, but we had to bow down. Which prompted to ask myself a question, will I be able to survive happily if nothing is planned?? The answer is definitely yes for survival, but for happiness I am yet not sure. In this time of lockdown, my profession demands me to travel to work for completing my duties. My drive from home to office is very peaceful and calm without traffic interruption, noisy background, pollution, unwanted public anger. I feel so blessed to experience such an environment forgoing the fear of contracting COVID (Note: I take all due precautions to be safe and I respect and salute the patrolling officials). Here I have to ask, can we collectively accomplish such harmony and peace once the situation gets back to normalcy? (I hope you can fetch in your opinion.)

My beliefs and emotions are strengthening with each passing day. The way I used to see death before is totally different from now. Money and a now-COVID is super deadly combo to debate. Given present circumstance, will money assure surety to anyone’s life? It can buy doctor, bed, ventilator, but COVID? I feel the answer is no until medical progress is made. Now talking about the deceased to COVID, can’t be touched, kissed, and hugged. Also, people suffering from COVID can’t long for care, attention, pamper and love from loved ones at the bedside. At bad times, we seek for physical, mental and emotional help and support from known, but COVID times is making sure, we fight in our own strength. (Hard to blame others too, all fear of death).

‘DEATH, things to accomplish before and after, time to sit and contemplate’, to the COVID times.

Too much to my mind, still writing it for clarity and inputs.

With Love,

Venkatlaxmi
