I'm here to express the importance of our traditional festival pongal.Pongal is one such festival, that is celebrated to thank the Sun God and Lord Indra for helping farmers in getting better-yielding crops. On that day we will make sweat pongal and perform a special puja to thank the sun god.On the third day of pongal, Mattu Pongal is celebrated in the name of cows. Sugercane is also offered. On the Mattu Pongal day, cattle are washed, their horns painted and decorated with shining metal caps. Multi-coloured beads, tinkling bells, sheaves of corn and flower garlands are tied around their necks. Turmeric and kumkum are also devotionally put on the foreheads of the cattle. There is special competition on the pongal festival that we will play our traditional games together. Not only these, I have many surprise for you that had hidden in this letter.
