dear friend

i hope you are fine there i am fine here i wanna to say you that i visited bodhgaya and i wanna tell you everything that i did there

Bodh Gaya is located in the Gaya district of the North Indian state of Bihar. Buddhism as a religion was born and developed in Bihar through Lord Buddha, formerly Prince Siddharth of the Sakya kingdom (in Nepal) in the foothills of the Himalayas. “Bihar” derived its name from “Vihar” meaning monasteries which it had in abundance. The Indian Emperor Ashoka (304-232 BC), whose kingdom extended from Afghanistan to Burma (now Myanmar), and who later renounced war, contributed immensely towards the growth and spread of Buddhism. He built numerous temples and monasteries in the Indian sub-continent, many of which still exist drawing pilgrims from all over the world.

Other than the Buddhist sites, Bihar is not a major tourism destination because it has a reputation of being a troubled state and an unsafe place for women to travel alone. Strictly speaking, it means no wandering on roads or staying out after dusk. So, this is the state that I visited last October. I flew with IndiGo Airlines from Mumbai to Ranchi, the state capital of neighbouring Jharkhand.
