Dear John,

Hope you are doing well. I am also doing quite good. And I would also like to share with you some good news which I know you'd be so happy to hear about.

As you may have known from our past correspondences, I was having my exams some months back. Guess what? I got through the examination. And that too with such high percentage than I had actually expected of myself. I know I may sound boastful but considering my history, you would also agree with me if I say that this is beyond me.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share the good news with you and maybe, if you will not mind, come for a celebration whenever you have time. I would be eagerly waiting for that day.
