I’m little surprised by your decision because you are one of those students who loved your subject and wanted to be a professor so that you can teach others about it. Also you are one of those individuals who doesn't settle for anything less than they want, therefore the decision to quit your post graduation seems to be taken without any afterthought. I can only advice you to reconsider your decision, but if you still think it best for yourself, than so be it.
