Dear friend Shovon,
How are you? I am well. In your last letter you wanted to know my Global Village. I am going to tell you about tree plantation.
Tree plantation means planting tree in large number. Trees are very important to us in many ways. We cannot think of our existence without trees. Trees cover a great deal of our food deficiency by providing fruits and vitamins. They supply timber for various uses. Trees prevent soil erosion. Many kinds of medicines are prepared form leaves, roots and barks of trees. Above all, they help us to keep ecological balance supplying oxygen. Generally trees are planted in July and August. They can be planted in rood sides and in all educational institution. But our trees and forests are not sufficient in proportion to our total land area. To preserve our environment we should plant more and more trees. Government should encourage the people for plantation by various media.

Dear Dhruv,
This letter is to let you know about the fact that cutting trees has benefits and drawbacks. Though there is a purpose for deforestation, one must decide it after judging the consequences in long-run. Deforestation converts forests into agricultural lands and therefore becomes a source of income for the livelihood. It is also a source of materials for construction. The disadvantages of deforesting include destruction of natural habitat, disturbance in water cycle leading to drought, flood and fires. Deforestation on a large scale can put human life and other living beings at risk.
