I'm very sorry to learn that you are lying ill in hospital. I wrote to your mother to let me know of your speedy recovery.

In the mean time, cheer up, my friend. Don't be si upset. For heaven's sake don't give up hopes in life. You will surely come round soon and regain your usual health, strength and spirit. God will not be so unkind to you as to see you suffer so long. Many have fallen seriously ill and have recovered. I myself had an attack of pneumonia last year and I'm now as all right as ever.
