Dear Janet

How are you? Hope you have

settled down in the hostel. Have you made new friends? How many students are

there in a room?

I know you must be missing your friends

and family here. But Janet, remember your father has a reason for putting you

in a hostel. Hostel life can actually be a blessing. It makes you independent

and more responsible. I was also like you initially when I was in the hostel.

However, within two months, I could see the change in myself and began to enjoy

my hostel life.

Please try to spend more time

with your new friends and get to know them better. I am sure that this will

cheer you up. You can always call your friends and family outside hostel once a

week. Or, you can write to them once in two weeks. Cheer up girl, before you

know it, I am sure that you will admire your father later for this decision of

his.

I hope this letter finds you in fine fettle. I am writing to

you after your mother confided to me that you have been missing your friends

and family badly at the hostel. Dear friend, you have got this rare opportunity

to study at such a reputed boarding school; every child would love to get this

opportunity. As far as your missing your friends and family is concerned, I am

sure you will get used to your new life pretty soon. You will have wonderful

new friends and caring teachers here.

I promise you during the monthly visits, I will be

accompanying them to see you. I would advise you to focus on your studies and

co-curricular activities. You can stay in touch with your friends on Facebook
