I am writing to you because I usually share happy things with you, and the Independence Day celebration was a joyful event indeed. The atmosphere in school was so cheerful. Everyone wore the colours of the flag. You could see tricoloured wrist bands, badges, ribbons and even streamers all over school. There were so many cultural events. Patriotic songs echoed in the auditorium, while the play on the life of Bhagat Singh gave everyone goosebumps. It was so beautifully enacted, complete with the heart touching background music. I participated in the group dance. We performed kathak, and showcased the progress our nation has made. Looking at how we have progressed as a nation gives me immense pride. I wish you were here, and a part of the celebrations. In case you are planning your India trip next year, try to be in Panchkula around the 26th of January. That way we might get a chance to celebrate Republic Day together.
