Dear Grandmother:
I hope this letter finds you and grandfather in soaring spirits and the best of your health. You will be glad to know that I have just come back from an adventure trip. I had an adrenaline pumping experience on the rapids on the turbulent waters of the Ganges at Rishikesh I along with my friends decided to go to Rishikesh for leisure. The sylvan and idyllic beauty of the place was quite enchanting. The Ganges here is at its best! The current so turbulent, you won't imagine it is the same peaceful Ganges that flows so placidly at Haridwar. As we were sitting at a restaurant on the bank of the Ganges, enjoying snacks and tea, I descried a red raft in the river. Curious I asked the manager if we could enjoy rafting too. The manager replied he could arrange for the ride.
So within a matter of 20 minutes, the raft reached the bank. The rafting guide briefed us about the dangers involved in the rafting and also explained what precautions were to be taken. After a brief training in the shallow rapids of grade 1 and grade 2, we asked him to give us the thrilling experience of rafting through grade 3 and grade 4 rapids.
'Whoosh!' went our rafting boat! It was mind-blowing experience. The grade 4 rapids were so steep and precarious; we felt the terror of being thrown overboard by the current of the gushing water; we were grateful to God for the narrow escapes. The falls in the rapids scared us to the bones, though we had our safety gear on. We enjoyed the 5 kilometer stretch of the raft ride so much that we had it again. This adventurous experience will ever remain etched indelibly on my mind! I wish both of you were also with me. But don’t worry; I have requested the father to take the family to Rishikesh once more. You will also accompany us! The rest is fine. We all miss both of you so much! Tons of love from all of us.
Yours lovingly,

Respected Grandma,
Hope you and grandpa are in the best of your health. I am also fine here with the grace of God. In this letter I am going to describe you about my adventurous trip to Himachal Pradesh, that was organised by our college in the first week of last month. We were around one hundred students of the college for this trip. The trip was in Bir in Haimachal Pradesh. It was a six-day trip. We went to Delhi by train and after a day's stay left to Bir by bus. We camped out in the woods.
The nights were very clear and we enjoyed the beauty of the nature. There was no pollution in that hilly area. We went for long walks and also for trekking. The natural beauty of this place is really worth seeing. There, I also tried bungee jumping and river rafting in a small river and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was really a exciting experience for me. I along with some of my classmates also tried skiing in the upper parts of the hills where the area was covered with snow. This place was very calm and quiet. Almost all of the students enjoyed the trip. We had visited many nearby places that were worth seeing.
That was a wonderful place to visit. I have enjoyed my trip thoroughly in this beautiful valley. Rest is all fine. Please convey my regards to Mummy, Papa
and Grandpa and love to Smariti.
Yours lovingly
Vinay.
