Dear Mother,

I am quite well here and hope that you will be the same with respected father and little Pintu.

Today I received your kind letter. I am glad know that you are coming soon here with father and little Pintu. I am waiting for you.

Mother, you know me well as I am your son. You know well my liking and disliking. I have no interest in mathematics . It is a terror to me. I do not like a job of a teacher. The society calls him nation-builder. But his daily life is full of worries. He is neglected everywhere. He has to no peace of mind . I also do not like the life of junior engineer. He has to pass his life in the open fields. I hate field service. This post is full of corruption and fraud. My only choice is to be a doctor . So I have offered Biology.

So I request you to persuade dear father to let me join the medical course. I do believe that you will do every thing for me.

Waiting for your arrival,

Your obedient son,

Dear Mother,

I received dear father's letter yesterday about your illness. I hope by now you will have recovered from viral fever. I shall not be coming home during Dussehra vacation because our principal has asked the students of NSS to go to the countryside and take up the work of improving hygienic conditions in villages adjoining the district. Thousands of NSS volunteers from various schools will be getting together for this hygienic drive.

Ten days programme has been chalked out for various activities relating to hygienic drive. As you know Indian villages do not present attractive look. Whatever charm lies in a village is because of natural surroundings, fresh air and simplicity of life. As a part of our programme we have been asked to give top priorty to the drainage system in the villages and teaching of simple rules of personal hygiene. These are two major problems experienced in an Indian village.

Our part of work is not confined only to instructions. We have to work with our own hands in constructing drains and repairing the damaged streets. Depressions in and outside the villages are to be repaired so that rain water may not result in forming puddles, breeding places for mosquitoes. We will plan the sites for domestic garbage so that they may not cause infectious diseases.

I hope you will not be disappointed. I shall come for a day or so immediately after the completion of the NSS camp.

With regards to father and you,

Yours sincerely,

(your name)
