Dear Mom,

I am writing to you in a very disturbed state of mind. You are the only person I am close to so I thought I should share this with you.

I don’t know how to begin. Last week, my friends Shraddha and Komal missed classes to go for a movie. They convinced me to tell their mother that they had attended the lectures. I didn’t like the idea but foolishly agreed. After two days, they forced me to go out with them by missing lectures. When I refused, along with the others, they started teasing me and calling me a baby. I hated the mockery but wasn’t strong enough to overcome the situation so I gave in. I lied to you that I have fared well in my Hindi test. Now, my friends are threatening to come and tell you everything if I don’t support them any more. Mum, I am very ashamed of myself. I don’t want you to get the shock of your life when they disclose this before you. Please forgive me. It will never happen again, I promise.

Hope you forgive me as I completely regret what I have done.
