সেজন্য, কোনো ব্যক্তি মাতৃভাষায় সুদক্ষ না হলে অন্য ভাষায় সে জ্ঞানী হতে পারে না। শক্তির মূল সুর মাতৃভাষার মধ্যেই নিমজ্জিত আছে, যেখানে জ্ঞানালোকের অনন্ত সাগর আছে, আছে সুললিত সমৃদ্ধি।
শিক্ষাকে গনতন্ত্রীকরণ করতে হলে অনন্য উচ্চারণে মাতৃভাষাকে গ্রহন করতেই হবে, কেন-না মাতৃভাষাই হল সরল সত্যধারা। শিশু জন্মগ্রহনের পর থেকেই মায়ের কাছে লালিত পালিত হয়, সুতরাং মায়ের ভাষাই সে প্রথম শেখে, মায়ের মুখনিঃসৃত বানীতেই সে পুষ্ট হয়, হয় সমূহ সমৃদ্ধ।মাতৃভাষার মধ্যেই শিক্ষাবিস্তারের বিশ্বস্ততা ও নির্ভরতা লুকিয়ে আছে।সুতরাং মায়ের গুরুত্ব শিক্ষাপ্রসারে আপরিসীম। বলা চলে —
