Dear Friend
How are you? I am fine here and hope that this letter of mine finds you in the best of your health and spirits. I received your letter last week in which you had asked about the safety measures being taken in our country to check the accidents on the roads and I am writing this letter to reply about the same.
India is a country with population increasing at an alarming rate. Due to this the pollution and rush on the roads is increasing with each passing day. This has also given rise to problems like traffic jams, road rage, accidents, etc. But the government has become vigilant and is applying a lot of remedial measures. Strict traffic rules have been laid and the traffic police is following up actively. Barriers have been put up and speed breakers have been constructed to check the speeding vehicles. Spy cameras have been installed to check the vehicles crossing the speed limit, jumping signals, etc.
A lot of measures are being taken and awareness is being created among the masses with the help of which the number of accidents on the roads has reduced drastically. The situation will soon be under control. Give my regards to your family. Looking forward to meet you soon.
Yours loving friend

My Dear Maryln,
Received your letter on the measures taken in London to curb the number of road accidents. Only now did I find time to reply. I must say that its quite impressive the way your country deals with these matters.
Now to the point, here in India, the government tries to ensure safety of the masses in may ways. The majority of roads here are renovated after the monsoons(an yearly affair which breaks down the road into crests and troughs). People who ride without helmets are not only penalized but also advised on safety while riding. Drunken driving is also prohibited here. In addition to all these, children below the age of 18 are not allowed to drive.
With all these measures, we've been able to fairly decrease the number of accidents in our country. Hoping to hear from you soon.
Zia.
