My dear Zeba,

           I am glad to know from Dad’s letter that you have been admitted to one of the renowned boarding schools in Shimla. I got to know that you are feeling homesick there and that you have not yet adapted yourself to your new environment.

            Well, I am not at all surprised at your homesickness, since I know the homely feeling. You were so much pampered at home. It is obvious that you will face difficulty in adjusting to life there and miss the love, care, affection and petting you were so used to at home. It is worth mentioning that all institutions maintain the discipline to avoid any mishap. The rules and restrictions are the guiding principles, training the students to become independent, self-efficient, good and responsible citizens.

Forget and ignore the disadvantages there, but think of the advantages of a boarding school. A boarding school helps you to overcome shyness and reserve and help you interact & make new friends with several students who share your interests. Now is the time to come out of your comfort shell and learn to be Sociable. Being free from parental control and guidance, you develop the valuable qualities of self-reliance and a sense of responsibility. A boarder, again, has excellent opportunities for playing games regularly and keeping fit. One can focus and concentrate on the studies in such a distraction-free, competitive learning environment. After some days you will be familiar with the said atmosphere. Don't lose heart or hope. These are ladders for practical life. You must face some difficulties for your upcoming bright future. Tomorrow has good messages for you.

         If you avail yourself of these opportunities, you will have no time to brood over the home. And home will be sweeter when you visit it during the vacation. When I meet you during Diwali, I’m sure I shall find a great change in you wrought by your stay at the boarding school.
