There are mainly three types of soil :
Sandy soil
Clayey soil
Loamy soil
Sandy Soil : It is mostly made up of huge particles. It has less water retention and water holding capacity. Therefore it is not used in most of the fields to grow crops.
Clayey Soil : It contains only smaller particles. It has the high water retention and water holding capacity. It is used in the most of the fields to grow crops like paddy, maize, cereals etc ;
Loamy Soil : loamy soil has only some soil particles. It has medium water holding capacity and water retention capacity. Therefore, these are used in crops which need only some water.
