• Mesosarus is found to be a lizard-like animal, huge in size.
• It is found to be an ancestor of the lizard family.
• Mesosaurus fossils were found and they were found to washed towards the ocean bed.
• These fossils got separated due to the movement of the earth's continent from one place to another by which fossils moved and drifted away.
• This occurred due to a motion called plate motion.
• The American and African plate moved, as they were first origined from there, they too had fossils but it got to come across here due to the plate shift.
