Explanation:

The disposal of plastic wastes has now become a problem.

We can use the clean plastic for recycling into plastic granules.

Plastic wastes can be shredded and the shredded plastic can be used for road tarring.Plastic can also be used in cement kiln as fuel for calcination. Some plants are there for converting plastic into liquid fuel.

It is also seen from literature that shredded plastic can be used for making bricks, concrete that shredded plastic increases the compressive strength. But this method is still in its research stage and it is yet to be applied to field. The collection of clean plastic waste from source is highly needed.

Answer:

There currently is no (man-made) process that can turn a non-biodegradable plastic into a biodegradable one. Instead plastics are either dumped in landfills, recycled once or twice or incinerated. However scientists did discover a PET-eating bacterium in a landfill recently. This suggests that maybe in the long run nature adapts to waste plastics and can evolve bacteria that digest a particular type of plastic. Perhaps in the future it will be possible to synthesize those bacteria and use them to clean-up plastics in the environment.

Hope it helps you !!
