Complete step-by-step answer:

I had a long day at school and to top it all, had to walk back three kilometers to get back home. By the time I reached my floor, I was sweating profusely and very exhausted. As I headed towards the main door of the home and rang the doorbell, I noticed something amiss. There was a strange silence in the house. Usually, the bustling of the activity going on indoors can be heard from the door. However, on that day, there was silence. My mother was taking too long a time to answer the door so I rang the bell again. This time again, I received no response. Anxiousness ensued within me, my mother always used to answer the door promptly. On that day, however, she didn’t seem to be answering the door at all. I received the silence of inactivity as a response to every time I rang the doorbell. Feeling a bit agitated, I pushed the door and to my surprise, it was unlocked. Whenever my family is not at home, we make sure that door is locked from the outside. I call out to my mother, only to be answered with the dead silence. I looked around, the house was disarranged and seemed as if someone had been searching for something. I searched the entire house but there was not a soul in sight. As I went around the house, my heart started to beat faster. I had started to panic. I tried to reach my father on his mobile but the call would not get through. I try to contact my mother on her mobile, only to notice that she has left it in the next room. All horrible thoughts started to fill my mind. I felt numb and helpless. My mother always carried her phone everywhere she used to go. I tried to hold my emotions together and called the police. I narrated my story to them. They tried to empathize with me but told me to wait for twenty-four hours before reporting them missing. I felt distraught and went to my neighbor’s place. I rang their doorbell and voila! it was my mother standing right in front of me. I pulled her into a tight embrace and narrated my ordeal to her. She told me that the neighbor’s grandmother had a stroke and she had immediately rushed to help them. It turns out she was looking for her mobile phone before leaving the house but since it was taking too much time, she just left it behind. To this day, I cannot express the relief that I felt upon seeing her. Father returned back home from the office that day and we all had a good laugh over the episode of that day.

Note: A composition should be personal. It should contain your narrative, emotions, opinions, etc. A composition should ideally be written in the simple past tense.
