Hyderabad, the joint capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, was hit by heavy rain during the monsoons of July, 2017. The non-stop rains hit the city after days of lull, leading to water-logging and traffic snarls in several parts.
The downpour left numerous roads inundated making it tough for commuters to make their way through them. As motorists struggled to wade their way through the water, the rain left pipelines damaged adding to the mess. Even manholes in places such as Puranapul were exposed following the heavy rains, causing much inconvenience to both travelers and local residents.
On October 02, 2017, a huge cumulonimbus cloud burst over the city’s Greater Hyderabad, causing a deluge and nearly 13.25cm rain pouring over the city. This short two-hour stretching disaster killed three people and inundated several popular areas. Moreover, around 4 people were killed in the suburbs four were killed in lightning strike at Narayankhed.
