Greenwoods Global School Celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, 2018 with great zeal. Many events such as poster-making, debate, slogan writing, essay writing, quiz, etc. were held on the theme of ‘Save Earth’ and ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’. Mr. Kamal Mehar, the Mayor of the city had been invited to. A mime was presented depicting the plight of environment caused by pollution. The chief guest highly praised the performances of the students. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the chief guest appealed the students and the teachers to adopt green ways of life. At the end, the winners of the various competitions were given certificates.

World Environment Day was celebrated at Government Mohindra College, Patiala, on Monday. Various activities such as planting saplings and discussion on environmental issues were held. District Youth Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra Munish Mittal presided over the function. Mittal inspired the students to work collectively for the protection of Earth and emphasised on the need to build a greener world. College Principal Sukhbir Singh Thind said the objective of celebrating Environment Day was to make younger generation more sensitive towards environmental protection. NSS Programme officer Swinder Singh Rekhi also spoke on environmental sustainability and conducted the proceedings.

JITS COLLEGE;

Bhai Gurdas Nursing College, Patiala, organised a special event to mark World Environment Day on its campus. Students of BSc Nursing and GNM participated in the event by planting saplings. College chairman Baldev Singh Balluana said due to the axing of trees from the planet, the problem of global warming had been erupted. He said "To tackle the problem of pollution and global warming, we have to plant more trees every year. The college staff also motivated the students to contribute towards the protection of the environment".
