When the sum of two sides (base+perpendicular) of right angled triangle is equal to its hypotenuse then the property of Pythagoras Theorem is use.

Pythagoras (575-495 B.C.) :
He was a great Mathematician.He studied philosophy, physical sciences and astronomy too. Pure science of numbers or arithmetic, applied arithmetic, geometry and astronomy we're prominently included in his study of Mathematics. He thought logically on the problems regarding polynomial numbers, ratio and proportion,factors of a number and the number series. He tried to solve these problems on geometrical basis. He brought into practice the deductive method in the study of geometry.
His theorems on triangles, parallel lines and parallelogram were of great use to Euclid in developing the science of geometry. Pythagoras gave us the concept of irrational numbers.
