Black Soil:-

• The black color of this soil is due to the presence of tetaniferous magnetite and germs.

• This soil is also known as Regur soil.

• It is formed due to break in rocks of basalt.

• It is rich in iron, magnesium etc.

• Black soil is most suitable for cotton cultivation.

• Other crops include wheat, jowar, millet etc.

Laterite Soil:-

• It is formed under specific conditions due to the gradual change of humidity and dryness in monsoon climate.

• It contains a plurality of iron and silica.

• This soil is formed from the breakage of rocks, and it is classified as:

  1. Deep red laterite
  2. White laterite
  3. Subterranean laterite.

Alluvial Soil:-

• This soil is found on about 22% area of India.

• It is the soil brought by rivers.

  • It is lack of nitrogen and humus.

• Old alluvial soil is called Bangar and new alluvial soil is called Khadar.
